4 Reasons to Consider Invisalign in Plano, TX

November 8, 2015

Greetings Plano! Welcome back to the ongoing dental health blog of 1st In Smiles. In today’s post we want to tell you about a revolution in orthodontic treatments: Invisalign. Invisalign is an alternative to the brackets and wires of traditional metal braces. Invisalign can correct problems like gapped teeth, crowded teeth, and misaligned teeth.

Invisalign is proving to be a popular option for patients whose lifestyles would make it difficult for them to commit to two years of wearing unattractive and uncomfortable metal braces. Invisalign is truly an exciting piece of dental technology; today we want share four of the most exciting reasons to consider Invisalign for your orthodontic needs.

Reason #1: Invisalign Uses Clear Aligners

Traditional braces require metal brackets and wires to be successful. Invisalign is clinically proven to be just as effective at straightening your teeth, without the need for any metal components. Invisalign uses aligners constructed out of transparent aligners, making them nearly invisible when you smile.

Invisalign is a great choice for working adults and busy college students. You never have to worry about being seen with a mouth full of metal when you wear Invisalign; that means no one will ever think you’re immature or inexperienced for wearing braces.

Reason #2: Invisalign Aligners are Custom Made

At 1st In Smiles in Plano, TX, we can create an incredible 3D model of your teeth to help plan out your treatment. We can even plan out every stage of your treatment. With Invisalign aligners, you wear each one for two to three weeks. Then you graduate onto the next aligner. We can show you what your teeth will look like during this process, as well as show what your teeth will look like after your treatment. That means there’s absolutely no surprises with Invisalign treatment. You tell us what you’d like to have fixed, and we fix it!

Reason #3: Invisalign is Convenient for Working Adults

With traditional adult braces, you have to visit the orthodontist often to have your teeth adjusted. That’s not to mention the lengthy procedures required for placing and removing the metal brackets and wires. Invisalign requires no painful adjustments or procedures to apply or remove. Invisalign aligners simply move your teeth in a gentle fashion, in precise increments.

Invisalign treatment only takes about twelve months to complete. Compare that to the two plus years you would be required to wear traditional adult braces! The choice is clear if you value convenience and speed. Invisalign can fit into the lifestyles of even the busiest adults.

Reason #4: Invisalign Aligners are Removable

The aligners of Invisalign are removable. That means when it comes time to eat or brush your teeth, you just take out the aligner!

Brushing your teeth can be quite a challenge with traditional adult braces. You have to buy a special kind of floss, and take great care to clean the brackets and wires. With Invisalign, you can save a ton of time when it comes to routine oral care. The brackets of traditional adult braces are also associated with unsightly spots on your teeth when they are removed; Invisalign prevents this problem completely.

Probably the most exciting benefit of Invisalign is that you can continue to enjoy all of your favorite foods for the duration of your treatment. With traditional adult braces, eating certain foods can be difficult. You have to take great care to avoid food becoming stuck in your braces. This can lead to embarrassing situations at the dinner table or in public. Other foods can potentially be painful to eat with adult braces; things like crusty bread and steak have been known to knock the brackets right off of teeth! Avoid all of that drama with Invisalign.
